‘I Will Never Hesitate’: Trump Signals Military Readiness on Iran

by admin477351

President Trump’s State of the Union Address contained a clear signal to Iran about American military readiness: “I will never hesitate to confront threats to America wherever we must.” Coming in the context of ongoing nuclear negotiations and a US military buildup in the Gulf, the statement was both a warning and a reminder of the stakes.

Trump said Iran is advancing both its nuclear and missile programs despite last year’s Operation Midnight Hammer strikes, which he claimed had temporarily destroyed the country’s nuclear capabilities. He said Tehran was warned not to rebuild and has ignored that warning — a pattern he described as deliberate and dangerous.

The President described an expanding missile threat, with Iranian weapons already able to reach Europe and US military bases, and longer-range rockets in development aimed at American soil. He connected these capabilities directly to the US military buildup in the Gulf region, framing the buildup as both a deterrent and a contingency.

Trump confirmed that two rounds of nuclear talks have taken place this month and that Iran appears interested in a deal. But he said the US is still waiting for the one commitment that would make an agreement credible: a public declaration from Tehran that it will never develop nuclear weapons.

His message to Iran was delivered with the confidence of a commander who has already authorized military action and is prepared to do so again. Peace is preferred, he said — but the US is ready to act, and Iran should take that readiness seriously.
