China has called on Japan to address and amend what it perceives as inappropriate statements and actions regarding Taiwan. During a meeting in Beijing, China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, discussed these concerns with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade.
Wang urged Japan to take a more objective and rational approach toward China and emphasized the importance of handling historical issues appropriately. He highlighted the need to maintain the political foundation of China-Japan relations and respect historical lessons. Wang also stated that Japan should commit to peaceful development and avoid actions that might further strain the bilateral relationship.
Takeshi Iwaya acknowledged the existing concerns over the current state of relations between Japan and China. He assured that his organization would continue to promote dialogue and support stable bilateral ties between the two nations.
