China is poised to enhance its strategic communication and expand practical cooperation with Russia, as stated during the visit of Nikolai Patrushev, the Russian Presidential Aide and Chairman of Russia’s Maritime Board. The visit signifies a step forward in the ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral ties between the two countries.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, the visit offers an opportunity for China and Russia to further develop their comprehensive strategic partnership. She highlighted the strengthened relations between the two nations in recent years, marked by increased political trust, closer strategic coordination, and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. Mao described their partnership as a model for cooperation between major neighboring powers.
This visit is Patrushev’s first to China in his role as Chairman of Russia’s Maritime Board. During his stay, he is scheduled to meet with Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, along with other high-ranking Chinese officials.
The discussions are expected to focus primarily on bilateral relations and maritime cooperation. Both sides are seeking to identify opportunities to strengthen coordination and advance their shared interests in these areas. This visit underscores the mutual desire to support and develop their strategic partnership further.
