Loong Air has inaugurated a new direct flight service linking Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Taichung International Airport, marking the airline’s debut in cross-strait operations. This route, which represents a significant enhancement in travel options between southwestern China and central Taiwan, will be available twice weekly, with flights scheduled every Tuesday and Saturday.
The introduction of this Chengdu-Taiwan route is expected to boost connectivity and ease travel for passengers on both sides of the strait. By adding Chengdu to its list of destinations, Taichung International Airport is strengthening its role as a key travel hub in the region. The airport, which already serves as a gateway for numerous other routes, now boasts 31 operating or announced connections. This includes 20 regular flight services alongside 11 charter routes, providing diverse travel options for passengers.
With the Chengdu route, Taichung International Airport continues to expand its network of cross-strait destinations. In addition to Chengdu, the airport currently offers scheduled flights to Nanjing and Qingdao, highlighting its strategic importance in facilitating travel between Taiwan and the mainland. These developments are part of ongoing efforts to enhance regional connectivity and support the growing demand for air travel across the Taiwan Strait.
